WORKADAY TIP #55: Pack Your Lunch In Advance

Bringing your lunch to work is an easy way to eat healthy and save money.  What you may not realize is how much time you'll save by bringing your lunch to work. 

My recommendation is that you pack your lunch for the week, not just the next day.  On Sunday nights, I spend an hour putting together lunch meals for the entire week.  I store them in Tupperware and bring a few to work at a time (if not all). 

By bringing them all at once I don't run the risk of forgetting to grab my lunch out of the refrigerator  and I can get out the door in the morning with one less stop!

WORKADAY TIP #54: Keep 2 Coffee Cups

So I've been pretty disciplined about bringing my own cup to the coffee shop.   However, I realized recently that there was a least one day a week that I'd be too busy to wash out my cup at night so I'd resort to using a paper one. 

This left me not only wasting paper but feeling guitly about wasting paper.

So my solution is to keep 2 coffee cups.  There is even more benefit to 2 cups than I had initially realized.

1. I save paper

2. I save time since don't have to wash out a cup every night

3. I save water by putting both cups in the diswasher at once

4. I save money since my coffee shop gives a $0.25 discount for bring your own cup!

Who knew having 2 cups could actually bring 4 ways of saving!

WORKADAY TIP #53: Stick With The Basics

Fashion can be very time consuming and very complicated.  While I always envy the girl that has the perfect bag, shoes and jewelry for every outfit, I learned a long time ago that I don't have the time nor the budget to be that girl. 

So, when it comes to fashion, I've opted to stick with the basics. 

• Find a few good pieces of jewelry.  I wear the same watch and bracelet every day and I have a very simple necklace and some basic diamond earings.  They are all silver so they can easily be paired with other pieces and I wear them all to bed so I don't have to spend time putting them on again every morning.  If you have extra cash, I'd recommend investing in a few key pieces from Tiffany's.
• Pick a purse that goes with everything.  I have a total of 2 bags that I use regularly.  A basic dark bag for the fall/winter and generally a light gray bag for the spring/summer.  They match everything and they hide dirt well!   If you have extra cash, I'd recommend investing in a Louis Vuitton bag.  It will work for all seasons and will last forever.  Long term it's very economical.

By sticking to the basics when it comes to jewelry and bags you will save time.  You won't have to put jewelry on a off every day and you won't have to swap purses for each outfit.  Plus, by buying a few nice pieces, will you may not be a total fashion plate but you will always look pretty damn good!

WORKADAY TIP #52: A Blush That Stays Put

So I just found a new blush that may be the best one I've ever used.  It looks natural and it basically stays on until you take off your make-up at night!

Benetint is a cheek stain by Benefit Cosmetics.  They are a cosmetic company that started in San Francisco and is now available in major retail stores like Macy's and Bloomingdales.  It was their first product back in the 70's and they basically built an entire business on the success of this product. 

You put a few dots on each cheek in the morning and you've got a nice glow the rest of the day.  You can also use in on your lips for the same purpose!

You'll save time by limiting re-application. Plus, you'll save money by using it on your cheeks and lips.  Combine this plus the long lasting mascara I recommended as Tip 27 and you are ready for the day!

Trust me, with these two tips you'll look good from morning until night!
