WORKADAY TIP #80: Reduce Credit Card Rates

If you have credit card debt you'd be amazed by how much money you spend on monthly interest rates.   You'd also be amazed how much money you could save by just reducing your interest rate by just  .5-1%. 

So pick up the phone and ask your credit card company to reduce your interest rate.  If you've been paying your bills on time they should be able to accomodate you.  Additionally, if you've got another credit card you can threaten to move your balance to your other card.  Once you do that, I bet they'll find a way to bring down your rate!

WORKADAY TIP #79: Snooze You Lose

Time that is.

Do you know that by snoozing your alarm for 5-10 minutes you will NOT be more rested?  It takes longer than that to get REM sleep so snoozing doesn't really give provide you more zzzzs.

So by snoozing your alarm all you are doing is losing time.  DO NOT SNOOZE YOUR ALARM. You won't gain sleep and you will lose time. 

So getting up sleepy head and get moving!

WORKADAY TIP #78: Systemize Your Closet

Every morning, I used to spend at least 10 minutes in front of my closet pondering what to wear. When I looked at my routine, I realized two things were making it hard for me to decide what to wear.

1. I had too many pieces of clothing in my closet I didn't wear
2. I couldn't remember what I had worn last

So the first thing I did was make a trip to Goodwill.  By getting rid of what I didn't wear, it was much easier to see and decide from what I had.

Then I came up with a trick to address #2.   I organize my closet in order of what I wore last.  After I wear or wash something, I put it in the back of my closet or on the bottom of the stack.  Now in the morning all I have to do is pick from the front or the top of the stack. 

Now, there are some exceptions.  Sometimes I may need something fancier than usual or more casual but for the most part I can just pick one of the thing near the front and I am good to go. 

Without having to make a decision on what to wear, I save a good 10 minutes every morning!  Plus, I've donated my un-used clothes and saved money from the tax write off. 

WORKADAY TIP #77: Packing Dirty Clothes

When I started traveling year's ago for work, I learned this little trick.

Pack up your dirty clothes in a plastic bag.  Most hotels have plastic bags for laundry in their closet.  Take that bag and use it to pack-up your dirty clothes.  This will allow you to keep your clean clothes separate from the dirty ones.

This tip will help you pack and unpack faster saving time on both legs of your trip!

WORKADAY TIP #76: Cough Carefully

Many people think coughing or sneezing into their hands in the right and appropriate thing to do. THIS IS NOT TRUE.

The best thing to do is cough into your sleeve.  Coughing or sneezing into your hand will cause you to transport germs to friends, family and co-workers.

Besides keeping your loved one's healthy, there's an added benefit to coughing into your sleeve instead of your hands.   You will save money on your family's doctor bills and you'll save time when you don't have to work extra hours to make up for your sick co-workers!
