Keeping your nails looking nice when your are a busy, active women can be a real challenge. Between cleaning, doing the dishes, yard work, and playing outdoors with family and friends, your nails are bound to look ragged and unkept.
So rather than spend a fortune getting my nails done every week I made a decision to only pay for pedicures. Here is my logic:
Manicures chip within days of receiving them so I gave up on finger nail polish all together. I keep my nails relatively short and square and I buff them rather than paint them. I also put oil on my cuticles once a week and a heavy hand cream before I go to bed at night. So while I never have pretty painted nails, I always have nails that look clean and well kept and I never have to deal with ugly chips.
As for pedicures, I continue to pay for these pretty regularly however I do try and cut down a bit during the winter months unless I am going on a warm weather vacation. They seems to last longer but I insist that they keep my toe nails really short. Being a runner, this is a given however it also lessens the chances of chips. A dark pearly color generally stays on longer for me.
I am saving time and money by eliminating professional manicure and finger nail polish and by limiting pedicures in the winter months and keep my nails short.
