On the eve of my birthday, it seems only appropriate to do a tip that is related to celebrating. So here are some ways to enjoy yummy cocktails without consuming too many calories. A hangover is bad enough, don't add insult to injury by adding unnecessary calories that you'll regret the next morning.
Here are a few of my favorite options:
- Martini (of nearly any kind): With it being primarily alcohol, there aren't any hidden calories.
- Flavored Vodka & Soda: Replacing a sugery mixer with calorie-free soda can make a big difference.
- Wine: In moderation is relatively low in calories. Red is good for your heart so there is added benefit there and you can always make a wine spritzer (just add sparking water) to lower calories.
And when in doubt, just order a shot :)
