Before you completely eliminate every indulgence due to the recession, see if you can re-negotiate some of your regular services at a reduced rate.
For example, I have my house cleaned every other week. I contacted the company, explained that times are tough, and that I can no longer use the service at the current price. I suggested they reduce my rate or I'd have to drop down to once per month. They offered to cut the hours per visit but still complete the same amount of cleaning. This reduced my rate by 50%!
Other opportunities?
So take a look at your monthly/quarterly luxury services and see where you may be able to cut corners. My philosophy is, "it can't hurt to ask!"
