WORKADAY TIP #142: Buy Gifts When You Find Them

TypePad is featuring an Intel  widget in their gallery right now that is right up my alley!  It's called "Tips of Tomorrow" and it basically gives you a new tip for today and tomorrow that will make your life better.

The tip for today, 7/21 is particularly good.  It recommends that when you find that perfect gift for a loved one, buy it!  Don't wait until their birthday or a holiday cuz we all know that as soon as you are under pressure to find a gift you never can and you end up with a lame and thoughtless gift instead of something they'd really love!

TypePad just luanched a cool new QOTD (Question of the Day) feature that provides daily inspiration for bloggers.  This question reminded me of my very first tip which was to start a blog! 

Here is how starting a blog saves me time and connects me to those I care about.  You should try it too!

WORKADAY TIP #67: Just Say It!

On Valentine's Day, this tip only seemed appropriate. 

Say I LOVE YOU.

We often get so busy and so wrapped up in our own world that we often lose sight of why we are doing all of "this" in the first place.   We work hard and create efficiencies in order to free up time to spend with our families and to free up money to give more to our loved ones. 

So if this is why we are doing all of "this" then it is important to stop and say "I love you" to the people that are the reason for all that you do (this includes yourself!).

So use today as an opportunity to start telling the people you care about that you love and appreciate them.

WORKADAY TIP #65: Free Airline Tickets

Volunteer to get bumped for a free airline ticket. 

Not just when it's convenient for you but ALWAYS.  Most of us will volunteer when the wait is less than an hour, when we don't have to wait until the next day or when it doesn't require a layover. 

But I would say next time you have an opportunity to be bumped for a free ticket as yourself these questions.

"Is waiting 4, 5, even 6 hours worth $300?"

"Is waiting to fly out until tomorrow morning worth a free vacation?

"Is a layover worth another trip home to see my family?"

I would guess if you asked yourself these questions you would say YES!  So next time, when you all you can imagine is getting home, remind yourself what you'll get in return.  I bet it will be worth the minimal time and inconvenience you'll have to endure in that moment.

Getting bumped for a free ticket will cost you time but it will absolutely save you money and it will definitely provide you a lot of benefit in the future!

WORKADAY TIP #62: Stick It In The Freezer

Frozen appetizers are your friend.

You can't always be prepared for guests.  Being as busy as your are, sometimes you need to work with what you've got!

So on your next grocery store trip, stock up on frozen appetizers.  I always have some savory goodness in the freezer so when friends stop by I can quickly throw them in the oven.  Pair them with some wine and you've become the hostess with the mostess!

By having frozen appetizers in the freezer, you'll save time on cooking and keep your loved ones full and happy!
